Delete in the app
- Open FoodBuddy and go to Settings.
- Tap Account & data.
- Want a copy first? Tap Download my data and save the file.
- Tap Delete account, read what will be deleted, and confirm with Delete my account.
Deletion starts right away and cannot be undone. FoodBuddy then signs you out and wipes its data and reminders from your phone.
Guest? Signing out as a guest deletes the guest account and its data. Guest accounts with no activity for 30 days are deleted automatically.
What is deleted
- Your account, profile and sign-in, including FoodBuddy's Sign in with Apple access, which we revoke
- Your diary, water and weigh-ins
- Your targets and settings
- Your private foods, recipes, saved meals and favourites
- Label scans and their results
- Your consent records
- Your partners and partner entries
- Any data export files
What stays
- Foods you shared with the community stay in the shared database, without your name. Reports you made stay too, also without your name.
- Data in Apple Health. Nutrition, water and weigh-ins FoodBuddy wrote to Apple Health belong to Health. Before deleting, use "Remove FoodBuddy data from Health" in FoodBuddy's Apple Health settings, or remove it later in the Health app.
- Backups are encrypted and kept for 7 days, then they expire. We do not restore deleted accounts from them.
- Proof of deletion. We keep a one-way hash of your user ID, which cannot be turned back into your account, to show the deletion happened.
- Usage records without content (for example, that an AI feature was used on a given day) stay, no longer linked to you.
Can't open the app?
If you lost your phone or can no longer sign in, email contact@neculairaul.com from the email address of your account and ask us to delete it. If you used Sign in with Apple with a hidden email, send the request from the Apple ID email and tell us. We may ask one question to confirm the account is yours, then we delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
